Step 2: With a blending brush, blend the cut crease line, making sure there’s no harsh line. Apply concealer underneath the cut crease to clean it up.

Step 3: Apply gold glitter eyeshadow on the lid.

When it comes down to creating the perfect black smokey eye, there are some many choices and ways. We opted for this gorgeous black, matte look with a pop of gold in the inner corners of eyes.

Prior to applying the black eye shadow, it’s important to apply an eye shadow base first. Base color will create a smooth surface and ease the blending process. Check the tutorial for this look here.

I love the double wing look. Although as one ages, you don’t seem to have much of an eye lid any longer. My issue is applying eye lashes that stay up right so you look like you have lashes on and not point downward. Any particular brand you would recommend?

Lisa, I have used Lancôme mascara for years, all types, try their newer Hypnose Star. I too have hooded aging lids. Also, try using an eyelash curler before applying mascara. Always use black.

Lisa, when applying false lashes the key to keeping them upright is first making sure the glue is tacky before applying. Then apply one coat of mascara and pinch the lashes to your natural lashes so they stick together and then push up and hold until the glue is dry
