Unfortunately, anyone of any age can get acne. They can be most annoying thing ever, especially if you don’t know how to get rid of them.

We prepared expert tricks and tips to get the radiant, clear face skin you’ve always dreamed about.

1. Healthy diet = healthy skin.

Cure your acne from the inside by changing your diet. It’s well known that good skin comes from the inside out, not the outside in!
Changing your diet maybe sounds quite complicated but it really isn’t. You’ll need few days to adapt but once you start feeling better and your skin start to look fresh and clean, there’s no looking back. You’ll start feeling more healthy and energized.
If you want clean and dewy skin, you need to avoid fast food and sweets. Include more fruits and vegetables into your diet and results will be visible pretty soon!

2. Wash your face twice a day.

Wash your face twice per day – morning and evening.
Don’t wash it more than twice a day because too much washing will only make your skin dry. Drier skin produces more oils and more oils will lead to acne.

3. NO bursting!

It’s very hard to control yourself when you see a huge pimple on your forehead. You want to squeeze it really hard but – DON’T! You need to fight the urge. Squeezing acnes and pimples is the worst possible thing you could do. Bursting causes the bacteria to spread to other pores. You don’t want more acne, right? Well then don’t squeeze them!

4. Don’t touch your face!

Every day, our hands come in contact with millions of germs. Most people are unconscious pickers. That means you casually pick and touch your face while studying, watching television, reading a book or using the computer.

By touching your skin, allergens, viruses and bacteria transfer from fingerprints onto the skin. Touching your skin helps acne to spread and can lead to breakouts. Realizing that you are an unconscious picker is one step closer to a clean face. If you are aware of your bad habit, you will be able to change it. So, for an acne-free face – keep your dirty hands away from your face!

5. Wash your hands.

We use our hands to touch things all the time. Dirty things. If we don’t wash our hands regularly, we can very easily transmit bacteria through hands to skin. For clean hands, use antibacterial soap and wash them few times per day.

6. Keep your hair away from your face.

Avoid using gels, pomades, or fragrances on your hair. These products can get on your face and block your skin’s pores. If you have bangs or long hair keep it pulled away from your face. Also, if you have oily hair, wash it often to avoid breakouts.

7. Don’t sleep with your makeup on

You get home late, sleepy and exhausted, and the last thing you want to do is remove your makeup. We’ve all been there. Sleeping with makeup can clog pores and cause breakouts. One night with your make-up on is enough. Don’t risk!

Make sure to clean your face every night before sleep. Use a facial cleanser or makeup remover.

8. Don’t use oil based makeup

Every woman or girl with acne-prone skin wants to hide it. The easiest solution is to use heavy foundation and makeup. One layer of foundation is usually enough to hide all the redness and acne bit is it healthy for a skin? No it’s not. Using oil based makeup and foundation can irritate your skin and clog your pores. Your face will look worse.

If you are brave enough, during a breakout, avoid wearing heavy makeup – foundation, blush and powder. If you don’t feel confident without your makeup, choose oil-free foundation or bb cream. As we already said, remember to clean your face regularly and use oil-free make-up remover.

9. Maintain hygiene

After you clean your face, you need to dry it. We assume most females dry their face and skin with a towel… but do they always use a clean towel? We don’t think so. Dirty towels spread bacteria, especially if you use the same towel for your body, hair and face.
Try to change your pillow cases on a weekly base. The pillow cases soak up the oils from our face and hair, night after night. If you don’t change them regularly all the oils and bacteria can spread to your face. Yes, pillow cases can get really dirty. Ew! If you don’t have many pillow cases, you can use clean towels.

10. Workout.

Makeup brushes can contain tons of bacteria, especially if you don’t clean them regularly! Makeup applicators and brushes are bacteria magnets. Yikes! Washing only your face isn’t enough.

You should clean makeup brushes at least once weekly with warm water and baby shampoo. Only by cleaning them, you can avoid spreading bacteria and dirt all over your face.

13. Sanitize your Smartphone.

We spend few hours per day touching our smartphone while playing games, sending text messages, talking or surfing on the Internet. We touch it everywhere – in bathroom, in public transport, school, hospital… and we touch it with our dirty hands full of bacteria. While talking to someone over smartphone, we usually transport all bacteria from phone to our face! Gross, right?
To minimize acne breakouts, start using earphones or headphones while you’re chatting with someone. So, on which side you usually hold your smartphone? Is it the same side that’s breaking out? If it’s, clean your Smartphone ASAP and keep cleaning it regularly!

14. Avoid French fries and chips.

Greasy foods aren’t good for your health neither for your skin. Why’s that so? This type of food causes inflammation. Also, try to avoid fast food.

As we already mentioned in #1 tip, you should include healthier ingredients into your diet – raw vegetables and fruits. They are main key for a healthy skin. Your body will be grateful!

15. Exfoliate your face.

Exfoliation is crucial for acne-free skin because it removes dead skin cells. Regular exfoliation can soften and smooth your skin, leaving it acne-free. Weekly exfoliation is enough, you don’t want to overdo it. Don’t forget to moisturize your face after it.

16. Shower often.

Proper hygiene can prevent acne breakouts. Keeping the whole of your body clean is important especially if you have acne on your back or on other parts of your body.

It’s recommended to shower twice a day under warm water (avoid hot and cold water). Regular shower will open your pores and wash away oils, chemicals, bacteria and dirt.

17. Sleep more.

You might be a little surprised, but good sleep can prevent acne. Luckily, sleep is good and sleep is free.

Without proper sleep our body can’t function well. Sleeping can improve your immune system, and good immune system can prevent acne. Make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep!

18. Be patient!

Don’t lost hope if your skin isn’t clear and smooth after few weeks. It takes time and will.

19. No stress!

Yes, it sound weird but stress really can cause acne. For some people it’s very hard to stay relaxed, especially if you have stressful work or some private problems. Avoid negative emotions and stressful situations to stay relaxed. Chill out a little!

20. Avoid Alcohol.

Alcohol consumption can affect different people in different ways. Some people may drink one glass of alcohol and breakout whilst others will be able to drink as much as they wish without any notable effects (besides hangover). Also, alcohol dehydrates your body and skin.

21. Avoid dairy products.

Are you a huge cheese lover? Well, you shouldn’t be if you have acne. A lot of studies are showing a link between acne and dairy. Try to eat less dairy products and see how your skin will react. For some people there is no correlation at all so try to make a small experiment.
